    Grand Illinois Trail
    The Grand Illinois Trail runs through many counties of northern Illinois, stretching from Lake Michigan in Chicago east to Galena, south to Moline and back to Chicago. Many attractions, accommodations and other facilities are found along the road. Bikers should be aware that the surface changes throughout the path, from pavement to gravel, and mountain bikes are recommended for several parts of the trail. Access: Many of the access points to the Grand Illinois Trail are made of local trails in the cities along the trail route.

    Jane Addams Trail
    The Jane Addams Trail is open year-round for bikers, hikers, snowmobilers and cross-country skiers. It is open daily from dawn until dusk, except during the shotgun deer season, which runs from the middle of November until the middle of December. The trail starts at the Illinois/Wisconsin state line and continues through Cedarville and Orangeville to Freeport. Access: Access points at at the Illinois/Wisconsin Stateline off Imobersteg Road, at the Richland Creek Trailhead NW of Orangeville, at Buena Vista, at Red Oak, at Scioto Mills and at the Wes Block Trail north of Freeport.
